What does the Lecture committee do?

The Lecture committee is responsible for planning and running celebrity speaking events on campus. We bring in comedians, politicians, and celebrities — basically any notable public figures — to come and speak to Pitt undergraduate students. As a committee, we brainstorm people we’d like to bring to campus, draft interview questions for the guests, and set up the William Pitt Union Assembly Room on the night of the speaking events. My committee members and I are responsible for running the entirety of our speaking events. Committee members get a unique opportunity to see the behind-the-scenes of event planning and speaking events.

What is your favorite Pittsburgh Hidden Gem ?

The Christmas market that is done every year in Market Square downtown!

What is your favorite Pitt Program Council event?

Fall Fest/Bigelow Bash- both of our concert events where we get to build the stage and work the entire event from start to finish. It’s super fun and rewarding to put on such a fun show. I loved meeting Carly Rae Jepsen last year!
